Graduated Kirksville Senior High School 1979
Attended Northeast Missouri State University (since renamed Truman State University) as an Art major with a concentration in photography. Completed all photo classes. Left in the middle of my Junior year to manage a photo lab.

Mentors
Attended workshops with Oliver Schuchard, professor of photography at University of Missouri, Columbia, a student of Ansel Adams.
Mentored by Rosalind Kimball-Moulton, photography instructor at Stephens College, Columbia, Missouri, who was also a friend and business partner. "Roz" was a live-in student of Minor White and a contemporary of several recognizable names in fine art photography, including Harry Callahan.
